Working Group on Multilingualism

The Working Group on Multilingualism (Arbeitskreis Mehrsprachigkeit, AKM) takes place at the Department of Linguistics of the University of Vienna on a regular basis (see dates and topics below). We discuss current issues and questions concerning language policy/policies (as to multilingualism, displacement, education, discourse studies etc.) and other topics. Additionally, current studies are presented and discussed. Members and participants of the AKM have various backgrounds: universities, academia, schools, NGOs, professional associations etc., hence enabling a productive, interdisciplinary and applied exchange of ideas and networking.

If you are interested to join our working group and/or our mailing list, which is used for the distribution of current topics, invitations, questions etc., you are invited to contact Sabine Lehner or Nadja Kerschhofer-Puhalo.

The organizing committee consists of Brigitta Busch, Rudolf de Cillia, Nadja Kerschhofer-Puhalo, Eva Vetter and Sabine Lehner.

We are always happy to welcome new members!

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, there are currently no AKM meetings. But we are happy to inform you about the latest news via the mailing list.
