Welcome Event Indogermanistik
Die Abteilung Indogermanistik und historische Sprachwissenschaft der Universität Wien veranstaltet am Donnerstag, den 02. Oktober 2025 ein Welcome Event zum Semesterstart. Im Rahmen dieser Veranstaltung stellen die Lehrenden der Abteilung sich selbst und das Masterstudium Indogermanistik und historische Sprachwissenschaft vor und beantworten Fragen zum Studienstart, -verlauf und -abschluss sowie potenziellen Karrierefeldern.
Die Veranstaltung richtet sich primär an Studienbeginner:innen des MA-Studiums sowie Personen, die Interesse haben, das Studium künftig zu belegen (z.B. BA-Studierende in der Abschlussphase), steht aber grundsätzlich allen offen, die Interesse an historischer Sprachwissenschaft haben.

Anschließend an den offiziellen Teil findet ein informelles get-together am Institut für Sprachwissenschaft statt.

Welcome Event Indo-European Studies
The division of Indo-European and Historical Linguistics at the University of Vienna is hosting a welcome event on Thursday, October 2, 2025.
During this event, the teaching staff will introduce themselves and the respective MA program. We will talk about how to successfully start, get through and complete the program, as well as, e.g., potential career paths.
The event is primarily designated to newly enrolled students of the MA program and those who are interested in enrolling in the foreseeable future (e.g. BA students in the final phase of their studies) but is open to anyone with an interest in historical linguistics.

The official part will be followed by an informal get-together at the Department of Linguistic.
